How to buy a firearm
I want to order a gun but you don't have it in stock. Can I place a backorder?
The answer is yes. We would just require a credit card to place your order. This credit card will be authorized but NOT charged until the firearm comes back into stock and we ship it to you. However, your card will be authorized and the amount of the firearm will be deducted by your credit card company from your available credit. You aren't charges interest on the credit that is locked up. We don't get the money until the firearm ships.
What is the cost to ship my order when I order a firearm
$30 per order is the simple answer. This a charge that covers freight, handling and packing materials. However, there are a few clarifications that need to be made:
The $30 is per order (one shipping point), not per gun. So, if you order 3 guns on one order, the shipping charge is $30.00
If you order products with the firearm, normal shipping charges apply to the product portion of the order and $30.00 should be added to cover the gun(s)
Firearms are shipping UPS and should arrive within 1 to 3 days after shipping. There is no Federal Law dictating the transportation service level (ie UPS Next Day or UPS Ground). We will use our discretion based on the shipping destination and will factor the safety of the shipment first.
Sorry, we will not bill your shipping account.
Do you stock the firearms listed on your website or do you special order them?
We believe in stock! We feel that when you decide to purchase a firearm, we should have it on the shelf waiting for you.
You can tell if a firearm is in stock by view the item's detail and reviewing the bottom part of the page entitled, "Product Specifications:". From there, review the "In Stock:" line for the quantity that are currently in stock and available to sell. If we have any on order with the factory, it will show right below that line and will be entitled, "On Order:".

What is the differences in Night Sight brands?
We offer night sights from
Trijicon,
Mepro-Lite and
AmeriGlo.
These are all good quality night sight brands. They are all made similarly and have the exact same warranty. We get asked all of the time why they are priced differently and we don't really have a good answer. Some people have a brand preference and others are looking for good quality at the lowest price. So, we carry them all!
Why are your M&P prices cheaper than other places I have seen? Are they refurbished? Is anything wrong with them?
No, there is nothing wrong with our S&W M&P pistols. We have very aggressive pricing that allows us to offer the Smith & Wesson line of firearms (pistols, revolvers and rifles) cheaper than most other companies. Most of our pistols come with three magazines and the firearms are in brand new condition.
Do you take trades?
Yes, we do. Currently, we take trades from agencies only.
We do not take trades from individuals at this time due to logistical reasons. However, we look to do this in the future.
Can my agency test and evaluate (T&E) S&W M&P pistols?
Yes! If your agency is in MO, KS, NE, ND or SD, we have a T&E Program.
The process works like this:
Fill out T&E form online which is located here.
Mail in a letter to us on department letterhead, signed by the Chief or Sheriff. This letter must have a request to T&E pistols and list the models you desire to test.
The firearms are shipped to you
You evaluate the firearms
You return the firearms to Express Police Supply
What states do you sell new Smith & Wesson weapons to?
We sell Smith & Wesson pistols and rifles to law enforcement officers and agencies in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
I don't live in Kansas. Can I pick up my firearm?
This depends. If you are not a Kansas resident then you cannot in most cases. If you are purchasing a rifle or shotgun and live in Missouri, you can. A pistol, you cannot.
Do you still sell Glock pistols?
We do not sell new Glock pistols. We do, however, sell high-quality used pistols. We get these from agencies across the country that trade them in as partial payment on their new Smith & Wesson M&P pistols.
Do you have a retail store that I can come and view all of the weapons offered?
Yes, we do have a retail store. It is 5,500 square feet and stocked with merchandise.
The store is located at: 11333 Strang Line Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215

I am not a law enforcement officer. Can I still buy a gun from Express?
Yes, you can. We offer many quality
used firearms. We sell new Smith & Wesson M&P pistols and rifles to anybody eligible to buy a firearm - but the pricing does differ.
What paperwork is required to personally purchase a firearm?
You need a 4473, Department Letter or FFL.
The 4473 is a form required for over-the-counter sales of firearms. If purchasing a pistol or revolver, you can only use this method if you are a resident of Kansas. If you are purchasing a rifle or shotgun, you can use this method if you are in Kansas or Missouri.
A department letter can be used to purchase a firearm. There are strict formats that need to be used so please review the purchase letters page to download example letters. The letters cannot be faxed and MUST be signed by the "Chief Law Enforcement Officer" for your department (ie Chief, Sheriff, Warden, etc). This allows Kansas residents to pickup the firearm and allows us to ship the firearm to residents of other states.
An FFL is a Federal Firearms License, which allows for transfer of firearms from one dealer to another. You must have gone through the licensing process and obtained a license from the BATF (copy required).
